I had a really interesting conversation this morning with someone from Saskatoon. He just returned from Saskatchewan and said that the recession is not apparent there at all. Housing is still booming as is their job market and homes are selling extremely well. He made the comment that the average home or condo in Saskatoon is MORE expensive than the average home or condo here in Kelowna.
Our prices here have adjusted rather dramatically, and there are some incredible buys out there. A number of people are saying the recession is over... and we have certainly noticed an upswing in our volumn of sales. Prices have not increased much (if at all) but we are seeing a lot more activity happening out there. In fact, we have been involved in 3 bidding wars so far the last 6 weeks.
